The One Day Film School gives a group of up to 75 students a chance to immerse themselves in filmmaking for a full day (for up to 100 students, please CONTACT us).

The first stage of the programme offers pupils dynamic, hands-on workshops run by our award-winning trainers. The culmination of the day sees students working in teams to produce their own Ten Shot Films…all in time for a Film Festival and awards ceremony to end the day! To watch previous winning Ten Shot films, see FILMS.

Young Film Academy is the UK’s leading provider of practical filmmaking programmes to young people aged 8-18 (see ABOUT YFA). Working alongside Film Education, the UK Government’s liason between the film industry and teachers, we supply practical filmmaking workshops and training in schools. Wherever we go, students are desperately keen to learn more about digital filmmaking and the possibilities it offers them for learning and creativity. Visual culture is now an integral part of their lives and new avenues for creativity are emerging all the time. Becoming conversant in the practical use of digital imagery is now an important part of their education.

What does my school need to run the day?

We conduct The One Day Film School on campus and bring along all the equipment necessary to give the students a truly hands-on experience. The practical requirements for the school are minimal: two spaces large enough to accommodate the pupils, plus a DVD screening facility. To download the Teacher’s Guide with full specifications, see RESOURCES.

How much does the One Day Film School cost?

The total cost of the programme for Prep Schools is £990 + VAT (up to 75 students), inclusive of travel and equipment.

Above 75 students, further students are charged at £10 + VAT each, up to a maximum of 100 students.
